A Guide On How Not To Go To Prom
2 years ago, I attended my high school prom. It was a wonderful evening filled with dancing, candy floss, sparkly dresses and, best of all, my friends. Yesterday evening it was my brother's turn to experience the night that his peers have been planning since they started high school. But my brother, Dan, is not one to follow the crowd. Last night, he pulled off the most spectacular entrance I have ever thought imaginable.
It started off as a joke. Dan was refusing to wear a suit and tie and was pondering what could be the most ridiculous prom outfit he could wear. My dad was the one who suggested it as a joke, initially. Dan, however, went all the way and turned this joke into a reality. He and his friends turned up to prom in a beautiful blue cadillac and, believe me, he got a much bigger cheer than anyone else. That's because he decided to go dressed as a 70's pimp.
I'm just relieved he didn't take a girl with him- now that would get him kicked out for sure. Luckily everyone was very happy to see him dressed up in his finery. He managed to score an 'awesome' from one teacher and a high five from another just on arrival. By the end of the evening he was totally fed up of all the people asking him for selfies. He managed to bag himself the 'most outrageous' award, with the next most outrageous outfit being a kilt. Ahhhh..... I'm such a proud big sister (insert sarcasm here).

Allow Me To Introduce Myself...
It has been a week since my exams finished and I am free. Free for 3 months, to enjoy, to relax and to live carelessly. It's often easier said than done, though, as even 1 week in and, let's be honest, I'm ridiculously bored. I've been shopping, gone skateboarding, bought a colouring book because apparently that's a thing now. Yet how can I keep this up for the whole summer? That is why I have decided to start this blog. I need something to keep me occupied, a space to rant and rave about whatever is going on in my life. Whether it's my brother's prom (which is tomorrow by the way- he's going as a pimp), going on holiday with my cousin or my relationship with the neighbour's cat, it's nice to have a space where my voice, no matter how high or squeaky, can be heard. So allow me to introduce myself properly.
As for my friends... well truth be told they're weird. We all are. We'll admit it, happily. We are the types of people who don't care what other people think of us. I've had a fair share of friends who have judged me. My old group of friends once said that they didn't want to hang around with me anymore because I brought two bags to school instead of one. Anyway, since escaping such toxic people I've found that I've truly worked out who I am. I'm not a fashion person. I'm not a party person. I'm a weird person. Welcome... to my weird world! (Sorry, that was cheesy. But welcome anyway).
- My name is Jasmine
- I am 18 and I live in England.
- I love Canada sooooo much. Seriously, it's crazy how much I love that place.
- I'm a linguist- one of those weird people who, once finishing French A level, decides to spend her summer learning more French. And Italian. And maybe a little bit of Spanish.
- I love snowboarding, skateboarding, baking, unicycling (yeh I know... my brother's friend's brother learnt, then my brother's friend learnt, then my brother, then more of my brother's friends and now me. So there's a lot of unicyclists who live near me now!)
- ... Oh and acting. I'm the type of girl that sits quietly in class but can perform fine on stage... My confidence tends to come and go a lot.
